The Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Institutional Service Board (UPCISB) has postponed the Combined Co-operative Banking and Technical Services Examination (Special Recruitment), originally scheduled for July 20–22, 2026, according to an official notice issued on 15 July 2026, citing “unavoidable reasons” without further elaboration. The examination was meant to fill 116 vacancies advertised under reference number A-1/S.R./2026.
What is at stake
The recruitment drive covers posts of Manager, Junior Manager, Assistant/Cashier, Assistant/Typist and Assistant Engineer (Civil) within the state’s cooperative banking and technical services cadre. Applications were accepted between 25 March and 15 April 2026, meaning the affected candidate pool has been in preparation mode for over three months.
Why it matters
A last-minute postponement, announced just five days before the exam, disrupts travel and study plans for thousands who had already received or were expecting admit cards. The board’s own advisory acknowledges the disruption risk: candidates are being told not to report to exam centres on the original dates unless the board reconfirms them, and no fresh application will be required.
What happens next
UPCISB has not indicated when a revised schedule will follow. A revised admit card will be issued only once new exam dates are finalised, and the board has cautioned candidates to rely solely on its official notifications rather than third-party websites, which may circulate outdated or unverified dates.
