New Delhi: NDDB Chairman Dr. Meenesh Shah met Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, to review ongoing and proposed dairy development initiatives in the Alwar region. The meeting brought together senior officials including Ms. Shruti Bharadwaj, MD, RCDF; Shri Umashankar Chaudhary, MD, Alwar Milk Union; Dr. Devanand, MD, NDDB Dairy Services; and Shri J.T. Chary, Deputy MD, Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd.
During discussions on the proposed dairy plant in Alwar, the Union Minister recommended expanding the project into a state-of-the-art dairy complex equipped with modern infrastructure. He suggested the inclusion of training and capacity-building centres, fodder demonstration units, an ethno-veterinary facility and a modern milk parlour to address future sectoral needs. The Minister also encouraged establishing a large-scale biogas plant capable of meeting the complex’s energy requirements or producing upgraded bio-CNG.
Dr. Shah assured NDDB’s full commitment to advancing farmer-centric dairy development in the region and supporting interventions that enhance farmers’ income. The Minister further sought NDDB’s assistance in developing an integrated fruits and vegetables value chain. He appreciated NDDB Dairy Services for facilitating procurement of mustard seeds and onions above MSP through Sakhi MPO and Mother Dairy (SAFAL). Highlighting Alwar’s strategic location, the Minister said the region is well-positioned to supply agricultural and dairy produce to NCR, Jaipur and neighbouring markets. In a related development, NDDB Dairy Services recently started working on a new cattle feed plant in Nagpur.
