With record disbursements and new policy support, NCDC is driving inclusive, technology-led rural transformation.

National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a statutory organization under the Ministry of Cooperation, continues to strengthen India’s cooperative ecosystem with impressive financial performance and targeted development initiatives.

As of October 2025, NCDC has disbursed ₹49,799.06 crore for FY 2025–26, signalling robust progress and confidence in the cooperative sector. In the previous year, the Corporation disbursed ₹95,182.88 crore, marking a remarkable surge from just ₹5,735.51 crore in 2014–15. This tenfold growth underscores NCDC’s pivotal role in advancing the Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” — prosperity through cooperation.

Driving Inclusivity and Empowering Women

In line with the government’s commitment to social equity, NCDC has extended ₹57.78 crore in loans to SC/ST cooperatives over the last three years and ₹4,823.68 crore to women cooperatives, boosting women’s participation in rural entrepreneurship. Additionally, ₹2.37 crore has been earmarked for infrastructure projects under women-led cooperatives.

Flagship initiatives such as Swayam Shakti Sahakar Yojana and Nandini Sahakar are helping women-led cooperatives access finance, build enterprises, and strengthen their role in local economies.

Innovative Schemes Transforming the Sector

NCDC has introduced multiple targeted schemes catering to diverse sectors:

  • Yuva Sahakar promotes cooperative start-ups and innovation among young entrepreneurs.
  • Ayushman Sahakar focuses on affordable, holistic healthcare through cooperatives.
  • Dairy Sahakar supports modernization and expansion of dairy cooperatives.
  • Digital Sahakar aligns with the Digital India mission to promote tech-enabled cooperatives.
  • Deerghavadhi Krishak Punji Sahakar Yojana provides long-term credit to strengthen agricultural cooperatives.

Together, these initiatives are creating a new generation of professional, technology-driven, and inclusive cooperatives.

Boosting Sectoral Development

Under the Grant-in-Aid Scheme, the Union Cabinet has approved a ₹2,000 crore package for 2025–29, enabling NCDC to mobilize nearly ₹20,000 crore from the market. This funding will support 13,000+ cooperatives across dairy, fisheries, sugar, textiles, and women-led sectors — benefiting nearly 2.9 crore members nationwide.

Towards a Self-Reliant Cooperative India

Aligned with the National Cooperation Policy 2025, NCDC is working closely with institutions like IFFCO, NAFED, AMUL, NDDB, and NABARD to promote transparency, digital transformation, and sustainability in the cooperative ecosystem.

With expanding credit support, women-led empowerment, and digital innovation, NCDC is not only financing growth — it is shaping the future of India’s cooperative movement.
