New Delhi: National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with quick commerce platform Zepto to expand digital market access for cooperative-produced organic goods. The MoU was signed on December 16, 2025, at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi.
Under the agreement, NCOL’s flagship brand Bharat Organics will be launched on Zepto’s platform, beginning with Delhi and Bengaluru. The rollout will be expanded in phases to other cities. The initial product range will include key organic staples such as pulses, atta, rice, dry fruits, and natural sweeteners.
The MoU was signed by Vipul Mittal, Managing Director, NCOL, and Rachit Ranjan, Chief Policy Officer, Zepto, in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Cooperation. Those present included Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary, Raman Kumar, Joint Secretary, along with other ministry officials.
As part of the partnership, Zepto will onboard Bharat Organics products onto its quick commerce network, support their visibility on the platform, and facilitate the gradual addition of new products and service locations. The initiative is expected to provide cooperatives with access to urban digital consumers and strengthen their participation in India’s expanding digital economy.
Speaking at the event, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Ashish Kumar Bhutani, said the collaboration aligns with the government’s broader objective of digitally empowering cooperatives across the country. He noted that the initiative reflects the policy direction under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation to integrate cooperatives with modern supply chains and digital platforms.
The NCOL–Zepto partnership is aligned with the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 (IYC 2025), themed *“Cooperatives Build a Better World.” According to officials, the initiative represents a step toward connecting cooperative institutions with emerging quick-commerce models, enabling faster market access while promoting cooperative-led organic products in urban markets. The agreement is part of ongoing efforts to leverage technology and e-commerce platforms to enhance the reach, sustainability, and competitiveness of India’s cooperative sector. Earlier on 25th Nov, 2025, the Ministry of Cooperation had convened a review meeting to assess progress across three newly formed multistate cooperative societies — National Co-operative Exports Limited (NCEL), National Co-operative Organics Limited (NCOL) and Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL).
