Building on the success of neem-coated urea, Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO), India’s leading farmers’ cooperative, has introduced a groundbreaking bio-solution poised to transform Indian agriculture.
With 88% of Indian agriculture involving small and marginal farmers, challenges such as diminishing soil fertility, inadequate nutrition, and unpredictable weather patterns significantly impact crop productivity.
KRIBHCO aims to tackle these issues and boost farm yields by introducing a cutting-edge bio-stimulant called ‘KRIBHCO Rhizosuper.’ This innovative product is designed to enhance microbial activity in the soil, promoting vigorous plant growth and improving soil health.
M.R. Sharma, Managing Director of KRIBHCO, explained, “This technology enhances the plant’s natural processes and facilitates communication between plants and soil microbes, which are essential for nutrient uptake and overall plant health.”
‘KRIBHCO Rhizosuper’ is a Mycorrhizal Biofertilizer, developed using Novonesis’ advanced technology. It aims to optimize the use of phosphatic fertilizers, other nutrients, and water, thanks to its incorporation of mycorrhizal (a fungus)—a key component in fostering a symbiotic relationship between plants and their root systems.
While signing MoU with Novonesis, a world leader in biological solutions, Sharma further noted, “The new LCO Promoter Technology will accelerate mycorrhizal colonization and boost beneficial microbial activity in the rhizosphere, leading to stronger plant growth and enhanced soil quality.” This technology, which utilizes signaling molecules, improves the interaction between plants and soil microbes, crucial for efficient nutrient uptake and overall plant health.
Previously, KRIBHCO was at the forefront of innovation with neem-coated urea (NCU), significantly contributing to increased crop productivity. The cooperative currently produces 2.2 million tonnes of NCU annually.
