In order to restore trust in hiring process in cooperative banks, Maharashtra government has directed that all recruitment for District Central Cooperative (DCC) Banks be conducted only through recognised agencies — IBPS, TCS-iON or MKCL. The decision follows complaints from citizens and public representatives about irregularities in past recruitments handled by local agencies, reports HT.
The state has cancelled the earlier panel of agencies prepared by the Commissioner for Cooperation and the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Pune and the rule applies even to vacancies already advertised.
Under the new policy, 70% of posts will be reserved for local candidates holding district domicile certificates; the remaining 30% will be open to applicants from other districts (but may be filled by locals if non-local applicants are insufficient).
Officials say the reform aims to ensure merit-based, transparent selection and rebuild confidence in cooperative recruitment.
