As part of the International Year of Cooperatives (IYC) 2025, a Mega Cooperative Conference will be organised on December 24, 2025, in Panchkula, Haryana. The conference is being held under the patronage of the Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, and will focus on the theme “Prosperity through Cooperation.”
The event aims to highlight the evolving role of cooperatives in sustainable agriculture, farmer welfare, and cooperative-led development, while encouraging dialogue on strengthening the cooperative ecosystem in line with national priorities.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah will attend the conference as the Chief Guest, while Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini will be present as the Special Guest. The conference is also expected to see participation from senior officials and leaders from key cooperative institutions, including the Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) and shall be led by its Chairman, B. Sudhakar Choudhary.
Union Ministers of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar and Murlidhar Mohol are scheduled to attend the event. From the Haryana government, Cooperation Minister Dr Arvind Kumar Sharma and Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana will also be present.
Senior administrative officials, including Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi and Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Ashish Kumar Bhutani, are expected to participate.
According to the organisers, the conference will provide a platform for discussions on cooperative-driven approaches to sustainable agriculture and rural prosperity, aligning with the broader vision of leveraging cooperation as a tool for inclusive and resilient economic growth.
The Mega Cooperative Conference is part of a series of initiatives planned nationwide during the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 to strengthen awareness, policy dialogue, and collaboration within the cooperative sector.
