PESB Allows Applicants from National & State Cooperative Federations for CPSE Board Roles
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has decided to permit eligible applicants from National and State Level Cooperative Federations to apply for Board-level posts in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) under the “Private Category”, subject to fulfillment of applicable eligibility conditions. A communication in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Cooperation to 18 National Cooperative Federations, based on the letter received from PESB. According to the letter, the decision applies to applicants only from National and State Level Cooperative Federations who meet prescribed eligibility norms. Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government’s in-principle approval for nine new District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) is set to address long-standing gaps in district-level cooperative credit coverage, particularly in newly formed, tribal-dominated, and coastal districts that currently depend on neighbouring district banks. The proposed DCCBs will come up in Dahod, Aravalli, Tapi, Chhota Udepur, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Anand, Dang, and Navsari, districts that were either carved out in recent years or have witnessed rising demand for decentralised cooperative banking services.
